about

***This release was taken out of print because R. Stevie Moore was posting numerous racially insensitive remarks on Twitter and also using Leslie Keffer's source material without her permission, in contexts that bordered on disrespectful. He was not replying to our concerned messages and instead posting passive-aggressive remarks on social media (now also bandcamp). When he finally did reply, he was unwilling to acknowledge that he was rude at best, probably drunk, and he had already dug enough of a hole by calling someone a "niggress" and referring to "Bandcamp Fish Fry-day" or "Negro Friday" on Black Friday, or something about someone's "transsexual n*gger toes"... etc, etc. This isn't "satire" and it isn't the work a "free spirit", RSM is clearly an emotionally-stunted egomaniac.

We are a modest label and are not primarily interested in sales, but we don't release music by petty and shallow, attention-starved "meme" people, for one. We are firmly against censorship, but that does not mean that everyone is welcome at the dinner table. Keffer did most of the work on this release, out of the kindness of her heart she polished RSM's incoherent doodles, and she will be working on a new "stripped down" version without RSM's minimal/negligible input, and without track titles that have the word "n*gga" in them or Confederate flags, another thing that Leslie doesn't want her name anywhere near. This is the final word from us on the matter...***

This is the previous text regarding the release:

Leslie Keffer is known as a prolific noise artist whose primary medium was initially radios and voice. First active in 2003, she toured extensively and collaborated with key figures, until she was side-lined with an injury for over a decade. R. Stevie Moore is considered an innovator of D.I.Y. aesthetics, and has been actively exploring various approaches for over 50 years. Moore announced his retirement from music in 2019, but has since returned to the fray. On I Wish I Could Feel, both artists converged after an otherwise rare period of inactivity, based on a friendship that began several years ago in Nashville. What has transpired was referred to by R. Stevie Moore as "Divine Industrial Intervention".
