bran(...)pos is the project of Jake Rodriguez, active since 1996, having releases on C.I.P., Tymbal Tapes, Animal Disguise, Resipiscent, Ratskin Records, Soundcrack, and more. Live performances are known for audio/visual psychedelic and surreal experiences. Recently, at the bran(...)pos bandcamp, early tapes from the 90s have been unearthed, with a mixture of more industrial and kitchen sink gestures, often to great effect.

"Abrbor and Rally Hag bookend this EP, and were both composed for multichannel sound playback at Club Fugazi in San Francisco. Here mixed down for convenient stereo enjoyment! Abrbor is played on a Roland JX-8P and racquetball court. Rally Hag is played on a Hammond Elegante and modular synth.

Hopraggat and Space Racist both have electroacoustic elements. Haopraggat with some kind of amplified percussion triggering modular synths. Space Racist has alien voice peeping through and triggering/clocking a synth sequence.

Fermentoir representing a space of aging and process. These tracks were all composed/performed/recorded between 2017 and 2023. There are elements in each of these pieces that influenced the next - the harmonic swells and noisy interplay in Don't Squint lead to the backbone of Rally Hag and the pacing of Abrbor. The percussive riffing in Hopraggat leads to similar elements in Space Racist as well as the racquetball pinging in Abrbor."

Rather than describe what this sounds like (a futile task), I will describe how it makes me feel. First it is much like white noise, blocking the world around me. It's just me and whatever I happen to be giving my attention to with no distractions or external worries. Then it is energizing and uplifting. I have more focus and energy. These soundscapes get me in the zone to help me concentrate on whatever I'm doing, whether it be washing dishes or scrolling Facebook. And it sounds damn cool too. dharmalogos
