about

Courtesy of Scott Scholz, "Gaze Stabilization" is an early exhibition of an upcoming conceptual full-length by Scott Scholz titled "Figure And Ground". The track is a live recording from October 16, 2023 at Toothblack House, in Lincoln, Nebraska.

"Figure and Ground" is a suite of solo guitar pieces with electronics that explore various aural simulations of spatial disorientation and recovery. It's a concept that became relevant to the artist in 2019, after developing a disorder called superior semicircular canal dehiscence syndrome, which causes vertigo episodes.
